Before you begin

Successfully establish a connection to either the wired or wireless (not “guest”) network at Goddard. To print on campus you need to be connected to one of the following networks:

Students must use one of the following networks:

  • Goddard
  • Student-Unsecure

Staff and Faculty must use one of the following networks:

  • Goddard
  • Staff-Unsecure

32-Bit Windows XP / Windows Vista / Windows 7

  1. Open a web browser and enter the address: http://192.168.2.17
  2. Click on “Install Printer and Scanner Drivers”.
  3. A file will be downloaded to your computer, navigate to that file and open it.
  4. The installation will begin. You may be prompted to allow the installation by any anti-virus or firewall software you have installed.
  5. Click “The printer I want wasn’t listed”.
  6. Choose “Enter Printer’s IP Address”. Enter 192.168.2.17 in that field. Then click “Install”.
  7. After installing, you’ll receive confirmation. We recommend printing a test page, you can opt out of choosing to Install SupportCentre by unchecking that box.
  8. Also choose “Remind Me Later” when given the option to register the software you installed.

64-Bit Windows XP / Windows Vista / Windows 7

  1. Open a web browser and enter the address: http://www.support.xerox.com/support/phaser-8860mfp/file-download/enus.html?operatingSystem=winxp&fileLanguage=en&contentId=66005&from=downloads&viewArchived=false
  2. Click on “Start” to download the file.
  3. A file will be downloaded to your computer, navigate to that file and open it.
  4. The installation will begin. You may be prompted to allow the installation by any anti-virus or firewall software you have installed.
  5. Choose the Xerox Phaser 8860MFP from the Select from Discovered Printers section of the dialog box.
  6. After installing, you’ll receive confirmation. We recommend printing a test page, you can opt out of choosing to Install SupportCentre by unchecking that box.
  7. Also choose “Remind Me Later” when given the option to register the software you installed.

Apple Macintosh

  1. Open your Mac’s System Preferences
  2. Click “Print and Scan”
  3. Click the “+” to add a new printer
  4. Choose the “IP” tab
  5. Enter 192.168.2.17 in the IP Address field
  6. Enter “Goddard CC Lab” as the description (optional)
  7. Choose “Generic Postscript Printer”
  8. Choose “Duplex Unit” on the next screen. Click Add.
